Monday – Friday
6:45 – 7:20 am
The Zoom meditation hall opens at 6:40 am. At 6:45 we “bow in” with each other, followed by a short chant, before sitting together in silence for 30 minutes. The sitting ends with the chanting of the bodhisattva vows, followed by a short service.
If you are new to Zen meditation, you are encouraged to first attend the Introduction to Zen meditation before joining the silent morning meditation.
6:15 – 6:55 pm
Introduction to Zen Meditation
This is specifically for those who are new to Zen meditation or feel like they would benefit from further instruction. We will provide some context and instruction for Zen meditation including posture suggestions, and learn by doing.
7:30 – 8:45 pm
Zazen, Dharma Talk & Discussion
Join us for 30 minutes of Zen meditation followed by a Dharma talk and questions and discussion.
For both Morning Zazen and the Tuesday Dharma Talk, you are invited to join us in chanting (please stay muted). Though the texts will be supplied during the event, this version for printing is more user friendly (print 2-sided with flip on short edge):
Brattleboro Zen Center is funded solely by donations. As we prepare to move several of our practice offerings from Zoom into a physical space in Brattleboro at the beginning of 2022, we are purchasing cushions and altar supplies right now. During this season of giving we welcome donations to help us cover these current expenses as well as our modest operating costs for the next year. A little goes a long way, a recurring donation goes even further.
