Monday – Friday
6:45 – 7:15 am
The Zoom meditation hall opens at 6:40 am. At 6:45 we “bow in” with each other, followed by a short chant, before sitting together in silence for 30 minutes. The sitting ends with the chanting of the bodhisattva vows before we “bow out.”
If you are new to Zen meditation, you are encouraged to first attend the Introduction to Zen meditation before joining the silent morning meditation.
6:15 – 6:55 pm
Introduction to Zen Meditation
This is specifically for those who are either new to Zen meditation, or feel like they would benefit from further instruction. Hakusho will provide some cultural context and for Zen meditation and instruction, followed by a short guided meditation, and optional questions and answers.
7:30 – 8:45 pm
Zazen, Dharma Talk & Discussion
Join us for 30 minutes of Zen meditation followed by a Dharma talk and questions and discussion. This offering is currently being offered every other Tuesday night.
For both Morning Zazen and the Tuesday Dharma Talk, you are invited to join us in chanting (please stay muted). Though the texts will be supplied during the event, this version for printing is more user friendly (print 2-sided with flip on short edge):
The Brattleboro Zen Center is funded solely by donations. Our current operating expenses are small, which means even a little will go a long way. As we aspire to practice together in person when it is safe to do so, an initial investment in zafus, zabutons, and altar supplies will become necessary, hopefully soon.
